Maple Cardamom Roasted Pears with Spiced Pecan Crumble

Super easy, fall inspired roasted pears with maple, vanilla and cardamom. They are baked until tender and caramelized. Filled with a cinnamon pecan crumble that complements the pears beautifully. These roasted pears are cozy, nourishing and bound to warm you from the inside out on crisp fall days!

Maple Cardamom Pears

  • 4 ripe but firm pears, halved and cored
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp melted coconut oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla paste
  • ¾ tsp ground ceylon cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground cardamom
  • Pinch of salt

Cinnamon Pecan Crumble

  • ½ cup pecans, roughly chopped
  • 1 tbsp almond flour
  • 2 tsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tsp melted coconut oil
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of ground cardamom
  • Pinch of salt

To Serve

  • Yogurt of your choice or your favourite ice cream
  • Pomegranate seeds (optional)

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 30-35 minutes
Total Time 40-45 minutes
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Arrange the pear halves cut side up in a baking dish or an iron skillet.
  2. Stir together the maple syrup, coconut oil, vanilla, cinnamon, cardamom and salt. Spoon evenly over the pears, and rub it in.
  3. Roast for 20 minutes, until the pears begin to soften.
  4. Meanwhile, combine the pecans, almond flour, maple syrup, coconut oil, cinnamon, cardamom and salt.
  5. Take the pears out of the oven and spoon the pecan crumble over each pear evenly.
  6. Return to the oven and roast for another 10 minutes, or until the pears are tender and the crumble is golden.
  7. Serve warm with a generous spoonful of your favourite yogurt, garnished with pomegranate if desired.
Chef’s Note:
  1. Bosc pears work best for this recipe as they hold their shape the best. But, you can use any of your favourite pears, adjust the baking time as needed.
